Hello!I live with my family including my father, my mother and elder brother in a block of flats in one of the green districts of our city. I’m a student of the 10th form of the Grammar School, administered by the Saint Petersburg University, where I want to study in future. |
To begin with, I’m a tolkienist. John Ronald Ruel Tolkien has been
my favorite writer from 12, when I read “The Lord of the Rings”.
From that time my outlook has changed, of course . Now JRRT
is not only my beloved writer, he’s my Teacher and a person, whom I
admire and respect more than anybody. I try to read Tolkien in origin and
translate his poems & songs. I’m in contact with one
of the St. Petersburg’s Tolkienists societies, they give me special
literature & magazines. If the circumstances permit, I’ll write my
own research work, connected with Professor’s creations.
I’m also fond of Tolkienists folklore: songs & tales. As I have a musical education, I try to sing these songs and accompany them on a guitar. My dream is to become a good menestrel...
I’m also interested in history, which is my favorite subject. To be more exact, I’m fond of everything, which has something in common with Scandinavia: history of its countries, their culture & traditions, Scandinavian rhunes , its mythology and legends.
My favorite groups are “Rowan Tower” & “AD LIBITUM”. These are
St.Petersburg groups, specializing in Celtic folk music. I
do my best to visit their concerts, but it’s not always possible...
I listen to “Pink Floid” & “Aquarium” too.
Except for Tolkien I like to read Dostoevsky (our Russian writer). On the whole, I can say about myself that I’m fond of everything untraditional, unusual and strange. It’s true not only regarding books.
Sometimes I spend my spare time playing computer games. My favorites games are “Starcraft” & “Heroes of Might & Magic 3”.
My sympathies in sport are given to horseriding. I think it’s the most exciting and exotic kind of sport. When I was younger I practiced horseriding myself.
What about my future plans ? I want to be a historian, a philosopher
or a philologist.
At present I attend the historical preparatory courses to enter the
University.
