(click on  images for bigger ones)

sette colliThe Seven Hills- I sette colli The Seven Hills are the most ancient part of Rome.

We have made many researches about them and now we have began to visit the hills. First of all: the "Campidoglio".

I sette colli sono la zona pi antica di Roma. abbiamo cominciato la nostra visita dal Campidoglio

‘Capitolium’, this is the latin name, is the most important hill because it was the acropolis and the religious centre of ancient Rome.

It was divided in two part: the ‘Capitolium’ and the ‘Arx’, where now there is the church of Aracoeli.

On the ancient ‘Capitolium’ we can admire today the beautiful place of Michelangelo with the palace of "Conservatori" and the new palace, in both of them there is the ‘Musei Capitolini’ with ancient statues and pictures of different periods. In the centre of the palce there is the statue of Marco Aurelio, a copy of the ancient Roman statue.
